A few words from William Ackerman, guitarist and founder of Windham Hill Records:
Tim Pacheco's music is his own. Of course you can hear his musical influences (as you can in all of us), but this is mature work in which Tim's voice has emerged very clearly. I also believe him as an artist. His music evokes deep, basic, clear emotion.... in short, it's true. Tim is a fine, disciplined player, but not a slave to technique.
Whether it was chanting in caves or beating on drums, music has always been about giving voice to the human soul. If we loose sight of the primal communication that is the language of music we've missed the point. Tim has not missed the point."

New CD nearing completion!
I have been slowly working on my second solo acoustic guitar CD over the last couple of years and I am very happy to say I am coming close to finishing the recording process. I go into Sutton Sound Studio in Atascadero this Monday, August 16th to record one final song. From there I plan to submit a rough mixed disc to my record label Solid Air Records with the intention that they will want to release it. Final mixing and mastering will follow.
I've had contributions from some very amazing local talent including Bob Leipman (cello), Maddy Nager (marimba), Johnee Gange (tabla), Andrew Wise (flute) and Carole Belmore (voice). I plan to have the CD out sometime before Christmas and have a CD release concert/party . I will have updates here as things progress.

"A Guitar for Elvis" released on Solid Air Records!
Solid Air Records has recently released a great new CD called "A Guitar for Elvis", a collection of acoustic versions of songs made popular by the King, Elvis Presley! I am excited to have my lap guitar slide arrangement of the song "Don't" featured on this CD. Other songs and performers include "All Shook Up" - Pat Donohue (from Praire Home Companion); "Suspicious Minds" - Laurence Juber; "Heartbreak Hotel" - Kenny Sultan; "Loving You" - Elliott Easton (formerly of The Cars); "Hound Dog" - Al Petteway and many more, 14 wonderful Elvis tunes in all.
I received some very nice compliments from someone who purchased the CD on Amazon.com: "Now, I didn't really know Tim Pacheco before this, but his rendition of "Don't", absolutely blew me away. Oddly enough, I wasn't even really a fan of "Don't" prior to this but somehow Pacheco's version has me mesmerized. I'm now a huge fan of Pacheco and "Don't". As of this writing it's tied for number 1 as my favorite song on this disc."
